About Us

We currently are STALLED with Second Saturday Christian Cinema because we can not find a venue. We need a location, preferably, a non-church venue with a projection system and sound system. So far, we have not been able to secure a suitable venue, but this is what we envision once we are able to find a venue.

Vision
Feed Christ’s Lambs’ vision for Second Saturday Christian Cinema is to share and spread the Gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ using movies followed by a message or Gospel presentation. We also hope that donations from attendees will cover the cost of the movie license and venue rental/usage fees. Any donations above the expenses for each month’s
movie will be used as an income stream for Feed Christ’s Lambs to provide resources to continue to bring Christian movies for their theatrical release in Emporia. We are also hopeful that area youth groups might be able to provide concessions for the movies allowing them to raise some fund for their activities. We believe, like John Erwin states in this video, that the way to reach the 18-35 year old generation leaving the Church is through movies.

Plan
We would like to show a Christian movie at the same location and same time every month. This will allow churches, youth groups, and others to plan on attending and the only item that will change will be the movie being shown. The time would be the second Saturday of the month at 7 p.m. If needed, additional show times can be added earlier in the day as the
normal license allows for unlimited showing for one year from the purchase of the site license. We would like to show the movies in a non-denominational, non-church venue to have the highest chance of attracting those people who may not be comfortable in church or may have
denominational concerns. However, if we are unable to find a non-church venue, we may have to initially pursue a church as a venue.

The cost to attend will be donations. There will be a 15 minute intermission at the half-way point of the movie. This will allow for bathroom breaks and concession runs, as needed. Immediately following the movie, depending on the content of the movie, an approximately 30 minute message or Gospel presentation will occur. We would like to be able to have area
youth groups volunteer to provide concessions. Depending on the venue, we would like to have a popcorn machine, soda machine, and certain supplies provided and available for the youth groups to sell along with any additional items their groups might provide. This would provide a fundraiser for area youth groups to raise funds to support their activities and ministry. If possible, we would like to begin with our first movie on January 12th , 2019.
